2025: The Year Purpose Met Proof
There are calendar years - and then there are chapters. For Marriott Communications, 2025 was a turning point.
When we began this journey, the intention was clear: to build a PR agency rooted in purpose, emotional intelligence and creative clarity - not volume, vanity, or the artificial pulse of perpetual visibility.
This year, that intention bloomed into evidence.
Across twelve months, we delivered 113 million media reach, 83 million digital impressions, 4.7 million engagements, and 15 major campaigns spanning finance, entertainment, charity, creative industries and professional services. Those numbers matter - not because they are big, but because they represent something meaningful: reach that resonated, and impact that lived in communities, businesses and ideas.
We launched the North East’s first Intelligence service, transforming data into decision-making. We launched MetriC, creating a digital store to empower communicators. We launched Uncut, our podcast - an unfiltered space for real conversation. We launched MC PR, a new collaborative agency model with Chrissie Pringle that challenges traditional structures. We launched Byline and The Brief, as editorial platforms for thought and foresight (and a way for me to drone into the ether…).
Alongside our agency developments and achievements came recognition: five award wins, seven nominations, and national acknowledgment of leadership, creativity and purpose.
Yet, he most defining lesson wasn’t about scale, it wasn’t about growth. It wasn’t even about success.
It was about the clarity of who we are as an agency, and I as a business leader.
The future of PR can’t be boiled down to press releases and media headlines - it’s intelligence, emotional insight, behavioural strategy, narrative psychology and human connection. It’s storytelling that shapes markets, movements and meaning. It’s communications not as noise, but as navigation.
2025 proved that modern PR doesn’t secure attention - it earns belief.
That belief is our foundation for the next year, and every year that follows.
