The Brief

Inclusion Scotland is a national Disabled People’s Organisation (DPO) working to ensure that disabled people are fully included in all aspects of Scottish life.

As Inclusion Scotland moved into a new strategic phase, the organisation needed a communications partner who could help them clarify their messaging, increase their public profile, amplify lived experiences, and engage with key external stakeholders - across policy, public, and digital spaces.

Marriott Communications was appointed to provide full communications support across digital content, press, member communications, crisis response, and stakeholder engagement.

Marriott Communications worked as an embedded communications partner across all of Inclusion Scotland’s key channels, delivering a strategy that was clear, values-led, and rooted in the principle of: “Our voices. Our choices.”

Over the course of 2024, we led on:

  • Day-to-day management of Inclusion Scotland’s digital channels and brand voice

  • Content creation, community management, and newsletter development

  • Press release writing and national media outreach

  • Crisis response

  • Reputational communications guidance

  • Creation and distribution of a new quarterly organisational newsletter

  • Mailchimp campaign management to reach and engage members

  • Bespoke digital communications training

We also partnered with Inclusion Scotland and Bhatt Murphy Solicitors to support their involvement in the UK COVID-19 Inquiry - shaping and distributing national press releases that elevated disabled people’s experiences of the pandemic.
